Selfies museum

Selfies, a term that was once unknown to the masses, has now become one of the most commonly used words in the English dictionary. Oxford Dictionaries even named it the word of the year in 2013. But what is a selfie? A selfie is simply a self-portrait photograph, usually taken with a smartphone or webcam and shared on social media.

As selfies have become more and more popular, it was only a matter of time before a museum was created dedicated to them. The Selfies Museum, which is located in Melbourne, Australia, is the world’s first and only museum dedicated to selfies. The museum contains a collection of more than 2,000 selfies from all over the world.

The museum was created by Andy Sellar, who was inspired to create it after he saw a selfie taken by a giraffe. “I thought, ‘Wow, that’s a great selfie. I wonder where it’s from?’ And then I thought, ‘There’s probably not a lot of places where you can go and see a selfie of a giraffe.’”.

The Selfies Museum is open to the public and admission is free. It is located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD and is a great place to visit for people of all ages.
